Martha Wash : Music Fan’s Blog shines a light on unrecognized Diva.

Las Vegas, Nevada – Many people know Martha Wash, as part of the group, Two Tons of Fun, (a.k.a The Weather Girls) and their smash anthem “It’s raining men.” However, many don’t know that Martha Wash has been a commanding vocalist in the field of Dance, and House Music for over 25 years.

If you have seen a disco revival program on T.V. in recent years, you have probably seen Martha Wash perform , “It’s raining men.” However DJ’s and Club Goes for years have recognized, and embraced her vocal talents on Dance records from early on since the inception of House Music in the clubs and private parties of Detroit, and Chicago in the early 80’s.

Ms. Wash made worldwide news in the early 90’s, when her vocal talents went unrecognized on the smash hits “Everybody, Everybody” ,”I don’t know anybody else” and other top dance hits from the groups, Black Box, and C and C Music factory.

At the time, the groups producers, opted to have model Zelma Davis, appear in the video for the hit songs, and lip sync to Martha’s vocals.

Martha proved her case on, the Arsenio Hall show, when she belted out the now, world famous lyrics, “Everybody Dance Now!”, and subsequently prevailed in the ongoing court battle.

In her 25 years as the “Dance Floor Diva” she has worked with some of the most prevalent DJ’s and producers to belt out other club classics as, “ Give it to you”, Something going on in your soul”, “Carry On”, and many other dance floor hits.

According to the blog author, “No one has ever performed in, or on more records in the history of Dance and House Music.”, and “ she (Ms. Wash) has had significant influence, and an unparallel contribution to the world of Dance Music the world over”.

The Blog goes on to say that, Martha Wash has never been recognized by any of the major recording and music industry organizations, while artists who have used her vocals to propel themselves into stardom, such as C and C Music Factory, has received multiple industry awards, and nominations in past years, including a Grammy nomination for best “new” artist.

The Author of the Blog, Harold Mansfield, Managing Consultant at Dedicated Webmaster & Associates say’s: “ I have always had a love for Dance Music..House in particular, and it burns me up that the most prevalent Diva in the field continues to go unrecognized for what she has contributed over the years.”

You can read more about Martha Wash on this blog at thisoldhouse.wordpress.com, which pays tribute to the beginning years of House (which started in Chicago), and Techno Music, birthed in his native Detroit, MI, and the artists that made a significant contribution, based on his experiences.
